PROJECT BIRTHDAYS AND OTHER TRAUMAS was one of five
winning projects chosen as part of the 2005 DIRECTORS GUILD
OF CANADA BC DISTRICT & BRITISH COLUMBIA FILM’S KICK
START INITIATIVE, “to provide emerging filmmakers from
British Columbia with a calling card film that will assist them
in pursuing a directing career”. The project took 14 months

SYNOPSIS BIRTHDAYS AND OTHER TRAUMAS On his 12th birthday,
the perpetually bewildered Oscar Pitt imagines Mother’s
homemade piñata is her Evil Twin which is alive and taunting
him. But Evil Piñata Twin crosses the line when it ridicules
Oscar’s flatulent Father and it's now up to Oscar to defend
the family honour, if not the family jewels. Oscar’s at
bat and his courage is put to the test as he finally faces his
fears!
