Phil Hersee, a Vancouver based Stills Photographer passed away in early Spring 2013. Understandably, his widow was overwhelmed and didn't know what she was going to do with all the thousands of negatives, slides, prints and published works. That's when James Dittiger, another stills photographer and myself decided we had to help preserve and archive his legacy before they ended up in the trash heap. We spent many hours, weeks and months itemizing, categorizing and eventually selling off his camera gear. Unfortunately, his photo archive was too extensive for either of us to wrestle with at the time and was put on hold. I have no idea what became of it.

I was fortunate enough to interview Phil for a documentary project a few months before his passing. He was quite ill but insisted on doing it. When I was asked to put together a slideshow for his memorial, I added a couple of clips. Here is Phil Hersee's video tribute.
